Clive Miles

Clive was born in England in 1940 during the last great war but spent some 5 years thereafter in India with his Mother while his father was away in the war. After the war, his father saw significant job opportunities in Africa and the family moved to South Africa in 1946 and in 1954 to the then Rhodesia. Just before graduating from school, Clive took a great interest in music. He formed a band called The Cyclones in 1959 and did the first ever live television program in Africa called “Teen Time”. The music style of the day was of course rock and roll. He had great fun with music and it enabled him to bring in additional pocket money. You can visit the site
. Clive was so excited about music, he applied and was accepted to study at the Royal College of Music in London. However, his father had other plans and insisted that he study a professional business degree. He went to the University of South Africa and graduated as a Chartered Accountant in 1963. From this beginning he got jobs all around the world and though it sounds exaggerated, actually lived in 23 different countries. In 1973 he married a Brazilian girl by the name of Iris in Puerto Rico, have three wonderful children Andrew, Catherine and Roderick, and are now retired in Brazil. Although it is not the same thing to get back to music at the age of 62 after a 40 plus year break, this is what Clive decided to do. He started studying the piano and guitar with two close friends Nelson Serratto and Luis Volpato. The three got into music recordings and to date have together completed exactly 186 recordings under the album name Landmark Memories. In addition, Clive has recorded his own compositions which you can hear on this site. We hope you enjoy them.
